The bitcoin exchange rate has updated a maximum of 4 months. On the morning of January 16, the price of the first cryptocurrency rose above $21.4 thousand for the first time since September 13. It grew by 24.3% in a week, by 2.5% in a day, writes RBC Crypto.
Since the beginning of the year, bitcoin has grown by 27%. From January 1 to January 9, the price of the coin fluctuated in the range of $16.6 thousand – $17 thousand, after which it increased by $4 thousand over the week, breaking the mark of $21 thousand.
At 11:20 Moscow time, BTC is trading at about $20.8 thousand. According to CoinGecko, the market capitalization of the asset is $401 billion with a daily trading volume of $20 billion. The market share of bitcoin is 39.5%.
Leading altcoins also showed growth. The Ethereum exchange rate has overcome the mark of $1.5 thousand, over the past 24 hours it has grown by 3.4%, over the week – by 22.9%. BNB has risen in price by 2.6% in a day to $306. Ripple increased 3.8% to $0.4 and Polygon increased 6.2% to $1.02.
The total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies grew by 2.5% over the day and exceeded $1 trillion. The daily trading volume of digital assets amounted to $63.6 billion, while trading in bitcoin accounted for 39.25% of the volume, Ethereum – 18.3%, USDT was in third place with an indicator of 6.5%.
