Upbit, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea, has become the new sponsor of the Italian football club Napoli, reported on the website of the sports team. The platform will act as the official partner of the club in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons in all matches of Serie A (the highest division of the Italian football league system), Coppa Italia and friendly matches.
Founded in 1926, Napoli are currently top of Serie A, having remained undefeated at home throughout the 2022-23 season. South Korean centre-back Kim Min-jae plays in the first team of Napoli, which attracts the attention of many South Korean fans to the club.
The Upbit logo will appear on the back of the Napoli jersey. As part of the sponsorship deal, it will also be featured on billboards around Diego Armando Maradona’s home stadium in Naples. For the first time in a new form, athletes will take to the field on Wednesday, January 4, when the Neapolitan club will take on Inter Milan in the first game of Serie A after the break for the World Cup.
Upbit is one of the few crypto firms to have new sponsorship deals in recent times. Due to the crypto winter and unfavorable conditions in the crypto market, many companies began to refuse such contracts with sports teams.
