Clients of the Ukrainian pharmacy network ANC (Pharmacy of Low Prices) can now buy medicines and other goods using a range of cryptocurrencies. The new payment method is available from Tuesday, January 3, the company announced, claiming to be the first pharmacy chain in Europe to offer such options.

“From January 3, you will be able to enjoy instant payments when buying pharmacy products. After all, on ANC.UA it will be possible to pay for orders with cryptocurrency! It’s not just that we have the status of an innovative network of pharmacies that is constantly moving towards digitalization!”

Token transactions will be processed through Binance Pay, a payment system developed by the world’s largest digital asset exchange by trading volume. It allows users and businesses around the world to spend, send and receive over 70 digital currencies such as bitcoin.

To use this service, customers need to download and install the Binance app, go to the pharmacy website, place an order, and pay the bill using Binance Pay. They can then receive the goods by mail or pick them up at any of the chain’s pharmacies.

ANC manages a network of pharmacies under its own brand and combines several other Ukrainian networks, such as Blagodiya, Kopyika and Shar@. It has stores in more than 130 cities in Ukraine with more than 7 million customers a year. Cryptocurrency payments are initially available in Kyiv.

Binance Pay is used by other Ukrainian companies to make crypto payments. In September of this year, the Varus supermarket chain, with more than 100 stores in Ukraine, integrated a payment system to offer its customers in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporozhye and other cities the opportunity to pay with cryptocurrency in supermarkets.

And in August, Ukrainian hardware stores Technoezh and Stylus introduced crypto payments through Whitepay, a similar payment platform developed by Whitebit, a European cryptocurrency exchange with Ukrainian roots.
