Review of performance, settings and profitability of mining on 3070 LHR and non-LHR card

Are you thinking about buying a 3070 for mining? Are you curious about the performance of the 3070 in mining and how it compares to other mining cards? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should read this article.

In this 3070 for mining review, I will cover the 3070’s performance, settings, profitability, and the best coins to mine. By the end of this guide you will have all the facts about these cards and whether or not this card is a great buy for mining, despite the prices being much higher than the MRSP.

Performance of 3070 for mining

When it comes to mining performance, the 3070 is comparable to the 2080ti, which sells for $1,299, while the 3070’s MSRP is slightly lower. In stock settings out of the box, the 3070 can mine Ethereum at 50Mph while consuming 203W. However, with the appropriate optimization of settings, this card can mine at 60 M/h at a consumption of only 130 watts.

This is not about LHR cards. LHR cards extract ether at approximately 35-45 megahertz

Note that results may vary depending on the brand and manufacturer of the 3070 you purchased.

3070 Ethereum Mining Hashrate (stock settings):

  • – 50 M/h
  • – 203 W
  • – Etash

3070 Ethereum Mining Hashrate (with OC settings):

  • 60 M/h
  • 130 watts
  • Ethash

Compared to AMD’s RX 5700 XT, the 3070 consumes almost no more power, but the 3070 beats the 5700 XT when comparing mining hash rates. It is also important to understand that we are not talking about lhr card from nvidia.

Profitability of mining at 3070

When it comes to the profitability of mining on the 3070, it is not as impressive as the 3080 or 3090 models in terms of daily profits. However, its price is much lower than the other models, making it one of the best GPUs in terms of price/performance ratio, that is, the best GPU in terms of price/performance ratio. However, don’t forget that the price of Ethereum is rising right now, which makes mining more profitable.

More about Hashreit 3070

RTX 3070 hashrate is up to 62 MH/s for ETH mining. RTX 3070 LHR hashrate is up to 45 MH/s. This drop in hashrate will be standard for most new RTX 3070 cards, which means that it is more likely to find an LHR model than a non-LHR model. However, don’t forget to keep an eye on reseller sites to get your hands on an LHR-free model, which is much more efficient. There are several other 3070 models besides this one, such as the 3070 Ti and 3070 16GB.

We always base our hash rate on Dagger Hashimoto values mining Ethereum. This is because ETH is one of the most traded cryptocurrencies, which means you can potentially earn a huge amount of ETH with RTX 3070. Be sure to set up your miners properly to maximize the efficiency of your mining setup so you can reach profitability faster. The 3070 is a fantastic card for mining, and that means everyone wants one, so it can be hard to come by.

3070 mining settings

Below is an image of the best OC settings for mining that I found for the 3070 founder edition when mining Eth. Keep in mind that the settings specified in HiveOS should be divided by two if you plan to use the same settings in Win10.

It is quite common to want to squeeze the most out of the GPU when it comes to mining settings. However, I have found that by being a bit more conservative with the OC settings, I can achieve longer run times, which I think is better.

The best coins to mine on 3070

There is no doubt that Ethereum is one of the best coins to mine, not only for the 3070, but for most other cards. However, Ethereum mining is coming to an end as Eth 2.0 may be coming soon. With that in mind, I can easily see this card mining coins like Ravencoin and Beam or Firo, Cortex over time.

Is 3070 suitable for mining? – Conclusion

By now you might be wondering if the 3070 is a good card for mining, right? Let me digress for a minute and try to explain my thoughts on this. Even though the 3070 is not as powerful as the 3080 and 3090, it is still one of the best cards for mining in the $500 MSRP range.

With the 3070’s current mining profitability averaging $3-4 per day and its price, this card has one of the best price/performance ratios. However, the 3060ti has a similar hash rate at an even lower price point of around $400 MSRP, making it one of the best GPUs for mining in 2021.

However, just because the 3060ti has the best price/performance ratio does not mean that you should ignore the 3070. I feel like I speak for every professional miner when I say that either of these two models would make a fantastic mining rig.

The biggest problem for the 3070 and 3060ti is supply shortage. This is primarily due to the fact that these cards have the fastest ROI time of any mining card available on the market.

Because the demand for these cards is so high and the supply is so low, you might not be tempted to buy these cards at a cheap price. So, theoretically, these cards are some of the best mining cards you can buy this year, but given their popularity, you will probably have a hard time getting one.

If you can find a 3070 model for around $1,200, you should consider buying it. If the price is much higher, I would advise you to consider other options or even buy used GPUs like the 1070, 1660 super or 2060 super.
