Yesterday, March 27, a new hearing was held on the conditions of detention of Sam Bankman-Freed. Lawyers and prosecutors reached an agreement, setting limits for the ex-CEO of FTX, accused of fraud.

Prior to this, Bankman-Fried had asked for a significant easing of the regime. He insisted on being able to chat with FTX employees, watch Netflix, and follow crypto news.

His detention conditions were tightened after he was caught using a VPN. As a result, the judge even threatened to return him to prison if the SBF did not give up some of the demands.

Yesterday, March 27, the parties finally came to an agreement agreement. Bankman-Fried will receive a phone without access to the network and the simplest laptop. Through it, the accused will be able to surf the Internet, but only on authorized sites.

Bankman-Fried’s parents agreed to the rules. They are also prohibited from bringing any other electronics into the house. In case of violation of this rule, the ex-CEO FTX will return to jail.

Recall, Bankman-Fried was released on bail of $250 million. The trial on charges of fraud will take place this fall, the proceedings on administrative cases have been postponed for the time being.

The former billionaire himself lives in his parents’ house. He is forbidden to leave it without a good reason. At the same time, a patrol is always on duty nearby.
